This is one shrub that grows really fast and grows about 6-7 ft. tall and about 4-5 ft wide. It is a hardy shrub that can tolerate the hot southwest sun or the cold 20-18° degree cold weather. Web27 Dec 2010 · Turk's Cap is usually perennial so they will come back in spring. You can try planting the seeds if you dont like eating the fruit. We have tons of fruit in my yard still and I just love it. It tastes like crunchy Watermelon. Someone told me that the seeds were too hard for them but I have never found one where they were not easily crunched up.
