WebThis release includes gstreamer 1.0 support. The nvgstplayer application defaults to gstreamer 0.1. To run the 1.0 version, use the full path to the binary. WebNvGstPlayer is a command line media file player. It plays audio/video files encapsulated in MP4, 3GP, AVI, ASF, WMA, MKV, M2TS, M, and MOV. NvGstPlayer supports local file playback and playback over RSTP, HTTP, and UDP.

However, it looks that the real gain would be to get full encoding/decoding acceleration - so gstreamer seems the way to go. ekiga does not seem to use gstreamer.
